When collaborating on the creation of the Vomero Premium, the Nike design team wrestled with expectations of what a "serious" running shoe should look like and the pressure to stay within traditional product lanes like recovery or lifestyle. The Vomero Premium defies those boundaries with its bold, elevated silhouette and unapologetic style. Although, with a stack height of 55mm, the design posed a technical challenge. As Nike's tallest and most cushioned road running shoe, designers worked to obsess the balance between delivering an anti-gravity sensation underfoot and maintaining a stable platform on the pavement.
